The dust and rocks and asteroids
meteors and cosmic rays
showering ours and every earth
every day
must bring with them something
to say.
Which rock brought the dog?
Which stone had the idea of our bones?
The Earth a receptor antenna
tuned to her own hum
translating the six channels that work
phosphorus, sulphor, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen,
that other one and now they say arsenic…
And once done, and maybe not even then
the Sun will say when
and pause the moment
to break all back
down to dust
and spray us
across
some
distant astronomer’s sky
our pieces perfecting
seeds of the new
