Ozark Natural Foods is a great place to see new artists.  Their cafe features many from around the area.  In January, they will feature a recent Northwest Arkansas transplant – Hayes from the Hills.

Hayes from the Hills is an artist from Dripping Springs, Texas. According to her artist statement:  “Art is not so much a statement, but rather an obsession and the most consistent thing in her life. Drawing compulsively since a very young, without much reason, she poured her attention onto paper. Seeking beauty, connections, and inner peace: her life as an artist continues.

The Day I Sat Next to Vincent Van Gogh

“Between the years of 2013 and 2015, Hayes from the Hills painted 7 murals [in] downtown Austin, TX. Watching her city grow exponentially during that time, she decided to seek out a new home where nature still exists as a larger space than concrete development. She received the opportunity to be the Artist in Residence at Ozark Folkways in Winslow [during] the winter of 2015-2016. She is proud to be a part of the NWA art community and has pledged to give 50 percent of sales of this show to Ozark Folkways. Please read the foundation story of Ozark Folkways online if you do not know it already. It is full of heart! And Director Rebeccah Buccanon continues to hold the light of the original founder Clara Muxen so that her dream lives on.

“Please enjoy the work by Hayes from the Hills, a new artist to NWA, this January at Ozark Natural Foods. And perhaps we can all share our gifts to fuel our peace driven community.”
