Little Sweater Hugs

After rebranding from the Open Mouth Reading Series to Open Mouth Literary Center and adapting to make events accessible by converting to an online model, the literary organization has announced upcoming features and opportunities for the new year.

Starting in early this year, OPLC will offer multi-week classes, including one with education director Gwendolyn Ann Hill, “Waking Up Wonder: The Practice and Process of Environmental Writing.” Along with classes, the literary center will host workshops and readings by monthly featured poets.

Access copies of all poems and workshop materials will be provided via Google Docs at the start of each event, according to the organization’s website.

Last year, OPLC received over $13,000 in grant support, which enabled them to hire their first employee, completely revitalize accessibility efforts, and make the move toward becoming a literary center. They also collaborated with artist Adrienne Callander, whose live knitting performance at The MomentaryLittle Sweater Hugs, supported the first several months of the Open Mouth Residency.
