An array of local, national, and international independent films kicked off this past weekend at Offshoot 2015.  Offshoot film festival has been running for 6 years now and with the communities support it continues to grow.  One of the films this year featured a lot of locals of Fayetteville.  The film Neapolitan, which follows six teens, two detectives, and a hit and run was screened Friday at Offshoot with a great turnout.

Dan Robinson, Executive Director of Seedling Film Association, said that the quality of films greatly improved this year.  There were over 120 film submissions, compared to last years 80.  One of things that Robinson was really proud of was the local support surrounding the festival.  Along with the many films that were shown, there was also an industry panel held on Saturday, which local film professionals spoke about the film industry in Arkansas.  Robinson also said that more industry professionals were involved and present, and that having distribution representation from Circus Road Films really helped make Offshoot Film festival a great success.
