It’s s’wonderful, s’marvelous, and it’s swinging over to The University of Central Arkansas’s Reynolds Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11. UCA will welcome the Tony Award-winning love story “An American in Paris” to the stage.

Inspired by the Academy Award-winning film starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron, the stage musical tells a timeless love story through iconic music and lyrics by Ira and George Gershwin and gravity-defying dance. The show transports audiences to post-war Paris, where romance is alive and youthful optimism overshadows any darkness.

Hoping to start a new life, World War II veteran Jerry Mulligan chooses newly-liberated Paris to try and make his mark as a painter. Mulligan’s life becomes complicated when he meets the mysterious Lise, a young Parisian ballet dancer with a haunting secret who, like Mulligan, is yearning for a new beginning.

This four-time Tony Award-winning production features classic Gershwin songs including “I Got Rhythm,” “Liza,” “ʼS Wonderful” and others.

Tickets are $30-$40 for adults and $10 for children and students. Tickets may be purchased online at uca.edu/Reynolds, at the Reynolds Box Office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by calling UCA Ticket Central at (501) 450-3265 or toll-free at (866) 810-0012.
