Seven Northwest Arkansas women DJs are set to perform at the first annual Her Set Her Sound, a fresh showcase experience produced by local initiative AbunDANCE where local artistry meets local enterprise.

“Her Set Her Sound is an exciting platform to promote unity through entertainment and entrepreneurship in Northwest Arkansas,” said Robyn Jordan, Her Set Her Sound organizer and coordinator. “By elevating and giving visibility to bold and tenacious women performers and entrepreneurs from socially and economically disadvantaged communities, we are building a new grassroots opportunity to increase representation and a sense of belonging.”

Featured DJs include DJ D’Lite, DJ Dribblz, DJ Girlfriend, DJ Raquel, DJ Soulfree, DJ Susie Q and DJ Vlyn. ABI ESO Accessories, Love Thy Locs, Yarb Apothecary, and Golden Hour Vintage, along with other local minority-owned businesses, will be vendors at the festival. Food, an all-ages play area, giveaways and more are also part of the festival’s activities.

“Her Set Her Sound is the kind of community celebration that inspires…and encourages all of us to recognize the depth and richness of artists and creatives all around,” said Jesse Elliott, Director of Creative Ecosystems of the Creative Arkansas Community Hub Exchange (CACHE).

Her Set Her Sound will take place at Prairie Street Live at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 5. Pre-sale tickets are $20 and available for purchase online. Prairie Street Live is an outdoor music venue with measures in place to safely social distance. Masks are encouraged when roaming the venue unless guests are actively eating or drinking. Rideshare and use of the Razorback Regional greenway is also recommended. Tickets are non-refundable and if under emergency circumstances, the festival will be rescheduled.

Her Set Her Sound is supported through a collaborative effort with Abundance, Koglo Kreates, CACHE, Forge Fund, NWA High Society, INTERFORM, Tania Mahoney-Vazquez and Cameron Adams with Collier & Associates Real Estate Agency, Experience Fayetteville, KUAF, Big Box Karaoke, NWA Girl Gang and Ozark Natural Foods.
