Walton Arts Center reschedules Art of Wine festival
It looks like our Netflix and boxed wine days aren’t over any time soon. Walton Arts Center has rescheduled the Art of Wine festival to fall 2020. Although the event was beyond the May 9 performance suspension set by the WAC team last month, the decision to reschedule was made in the interest of the community and participating vendors, according to a press release.
The Winemaker’s Dinner is slated for Tuesday, Sept. 8, and Uncorked! is slated for Friday, Sept. 11. Tickets to the June event will be honored on the rescheduled dates. Patrons only need to contact the box office if they are unable to attend on the new dates.
The in-person performance of Äbhä by Parshwanath Upadhye and Punyah Dance Company has been cancelled; however, Walton Arts Center is now presenting a free, virtual performance of the program available starting at noon on the International Day of Dance, Wednesday, April 29. The performance will be available for viewing for 48 hours.
This beautiful multi-camera recording of Äbhä tells the ancient Hindu epic Ramayana – the story of legendary Lord Rama on a quest to rescue Sita, the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, whose choices would change the course of history. The screening also includes a creative conversation with Upadhye, one of the most sought-after classical Indian dancers today, according to a press release.
Current ticketholders will be contacted about their ticketing options and provided a link to the virtual performance. If viewers are interested in seeing Äbhä but don’t have tickets, register here and receive an order confirmation with a viewing link that will be active until noon on Friday, May 1.
Patrons can view a current list of shows according to their status at waltonartscenter.org/ticketing-updates/. As a reminder, Walton Arts Center lobby is currently closed to the public. If you have questions, contact the Walton Arts Center Box Office Monday through Friday 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 479-443-5600 or at info@waltonartscenter.org.
