Rockin’ for the Ribbon, a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness month, is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 at Moonbroch in downtown Rogers. Jenna Melnicki organized the event and said she wanted to honor her mother and others who are fighting breast cancer as well as give back to the community that has given so much to her.

“Back in February, the community in NWA stepped up and left my family completely humbled from the generosity and true heart they showed for the fundraiser I held: Dancing for Dianne, A Festival of Hope,” she said. “It was beyond humbling for all of us.”

The Rockin’ for the Ribbon event will feature six local musical acts and a performance artist, all of which represent the strength of the women in NWA. Performers include: Jenna and Friends, Ashtyn Barbaree, Honey Shuffle, The Candid, Whiskey Menders, Alyssa Galvan, and a live-streamed performance from Melody Pond with a live dance performance by Bekah Skaggs.

The event will also include a silent auction, raffles, signature cocktails and pool. Some available auction items include a $500 photography session from Arrow Sherman Photography, gift certificates to Flower to Da People Florist, and a weekend in Siloam Springs organized by Park House Kitchen and Bar.

All of the event proceeds will be donated, split evenly between Washington Regional Cancer Support Home and Arkansas Children’s Northwest. Both of these organizations provide patients and families alike with hope and help, in particular, the cancer support home provides their cancer patients with wigs, prosthetics, hats, and scarves at zero cost.

Attendees can purchase tickets for $12 in advance and $15 at the door, or a VIP ticket for $35 which includes an event t-shirt and two raffles tickets. All COVID-19 guidelines will be observed. Tickets are available for purchase through a link on the Rockin’ for the Ribbon Facebook event page here.
