Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) will host award-winning blues legend Bobby Rush on Dec. 6 for an intimate solo show as part of the CALS Arkansas Sounds concert series at Ron Robinson Theater.

Rush is a Grammy Award-winner and Blues Hall of Fame member. Rush has earned 12 Blues Music Awards and 48 nominations, including the prestigious B.B. King Entertainer of the Year Award and Album of the Year, according to a press release.

Born in Louisiana, Rush’s family relocated to Pine Bluff in 1948, and Rush began playing with Delta blues guitarists Boyd Gilmore and Elmore James in Arkansas during the early 1950s.

Rush won a Grammy in 2017 for his album Porcupine Meat and consistently tours the globe as a headliner. His newest album, Sitting on Top of the Blues, features R&B and jazz-infused tracks and a few songs inspired by Rush’s life.

General admission tickets are $30 and can be purchased at cals.org. Doors open at 7 p.m., show is at 8 p.m. Dec. 6. CALS Ron Robinson Theater is at Library Square at 100 Rock Street, Little Rock.
