The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Selects 39 Artists for the 2025 AMFA Art Market

Exciting New Event Brings Local and National Talent to the Museum This September

The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA) announces the artists selected for its inaugural Art Market, featuring 34 juried artists and five invited artists and galleries. The 2025 AMFA Art Market will span throughout the Museum during the weekend of Sept. 6–7, 2025, allowing guests to explore each artist’s booth and purchase one-of-a-kind works of art.

“The AMFA Art Market has been a vision in the making for years,” said Leon Robertson, AMFA’s Manager of Retail Operations and Art Market Director. “To finally see it come to life with such an inspiring group of artists from across the country is a dream realized. I am especially proud of the artistic diversity and depth represented, and I know our community will be energized by the experience.”

The artists selected for the 2025 AMFA Art Market specialize in ceramics, glass, painting, fiber arts, sculpture, metalsmithing, printmaking and mixed media. Representing a vibrant range of styles and traditions, they come from across Arkansas, Texas, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arizona. This diverse group showcases the rich creativity and wide-ranging artistic voices of the region.

“The AMFA Art Market is more than just an event — it is a celebration of creativity and connection,” said Dr. Victoria Ramirez, AMFA’s Executive Director. “Hosting this throughout the Museum allows everyone to explore, enjoy and acquire original art. I am especially excited about the Emerging Artist category, which showcases rising talent and gives guests access to local artists in our community.”

The AMFA Art Market is open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7. AMFA Circle Society and Corporate Partners enjoy an opening reception with the artists on Thursday, September 4, while AMFA members have access to a special preview on Friday, September 5.

Selected artists for the 2025 AMFA Art Market include:

Laurie Ament – Laurie Ament (Little Rock, Arkansas), owner of Isinglass Design, creates handcrafted lampwork glass beads using ancient techniques and offers engaging classes and demonstrations to share the art of glasswork.
Joe Barnett – Joe Barnett (Little Rock, Arkansas) is a sculptor and landscaper whose hand-cast bronze and stone works connect people to nature through emotional, site-integrated design.
Deitra Blackwell – Deitra Blackwell (Little Rock, Arkansas) is a former musician turned metalsmith who crafts nature-inspired jewelry rich with historical symbolism and personal storytelling.
Lynda Bodenheimer – Lynda Bodenheimer (Paron, Arkansas) finds joy and inspiration in the creative journey of working with art glass, where light, color, and process spark soulful and imaginative designs.
Lacy Cain – Lacey Cain (Little Rock, Arkansas) is a writer and artist whose expressive visual storytelling blends her background in literature, fashion, and fine art into deeply personal creations.
Emma Chambers – Emma Estelle Chambers (Little Rock, Arkansas) is an artist who creates paintings and ceramics using hand-processed pigments made from Arkansas rocks and minerals, blending her background in painting and ceramics with a deep connection to local materials.
India Childress – India Taylor Childress (Little Rock, Arkansas) is a ceramic sculptor blending refined craftsmanship with humor and imagination to create playful, expressive works.
John Dayas – John Dyas (Bella Vista, Arkansas) is a ceramic artist known for his Zinc Crystalline glazes on porcelain. He blends decades of craftsmanship, teaching, and ministry into innovative, decorative works.
Jenny and Sam Dowd – Jenny and Sam Dowd (Prairie Grove, Arkansas) are ceramic artists who create whimsical, sculptural installations exploring the curious relationships between objects and everyday observation.
Kelly Edwards – Kelly Edwards (Little Rock, Arkansas) is a modern artist and artisan whose quietly powerful, refined creations speak to authenticity, resilience, and meaningful connection.
Flatbed Press – Flatbed Press (Austin, Texas) is a leading center for contemporary printmaking, dedicated to preserving traditional techniques and advancing the art form through collaboration and education.
Abigail Henthorne – Abigail Henthorne (Little Rock, Arkansas) is a textile artist who creates intricate fiber art that celebrates endangered species and nature’s beauty through crochet, tufting, and embroidery.
Perrion Hurd – Perrion Hurd (Little Rock, Arkansas) is a self-taught visual artist known for “Afrofuturistic Geometric Symbolism” expressed through vibrant illustrations, murals, and prints.
Nisha Jaiswal – Nisha Jaiswal (Little Rock, Arkansas) is a self-taught artist originally from Western India whose work draws inspiration from traditional Warli art.
Heidi Johnson – Heidi Johnson (Little Rock, Arkansas), a Registered Nurse and founder of Delette Resin Designs, creates vibrant, one-of-a-kind resin vases that blend stones, glass, and crystals to bring joy and brightness to any space.
Daniel Koop – Daniel Koop (North Little Rock, Arkansas) is a mosaic artist reimagining the medium through hand-built, three-dimensional sculptures inspired by nature.
Sharon Landon – Sharon Landon (Little Rock, Arkansas) is a multi-talented artist whose work in jewelry, photography, and design empowers women through bold symbolism and expressive storytelling.
Guiteau Lanoue – Guiteau Lanoue (Missouri City, Texas) is a Haitian-born collage artist whose Cubist-influenced, textured paper works blend African symbolism and faith into powerful visual narratives.
