Come join us on Sunday, Nov. 8, at KJ’s Caribe Restaurant and Cantina for an evening of poetry and storytelling with renowned poet Yermiyahu Ahron Taub and Eureka Spring’s own writer and artist Zeek Taylor.

Yermiyahu Ahron Taub is a gay man who grew up in an ultra-Orthodox yeshiva. He is the Head of the Israel and Judaica Section of the Library of Congress and the author of four books of poetry, Prayers of a Heretic/Tfiles fun an apikoyres (2013), Uncle Feygele (2011), What Stillness Illuminated/Vos shtilkayt hot baloykhtn (2008), and The Insatiable Psalm (2005). He was honored by the Museum of Jewish Heritage as one of New York’s best emerging Jewish artists and has been nominated four times for a Pushcart Prize and twice for a Best of the Net award.

Zeek Taylor has been the subject of many one-man exhibits and juried shows. He is a recipient of the Arkansas Governor’s Art Award for Lifetime Achievement. His art has been displayed on four occasions in the Arkansas Arts Center, twice in the prestigious Delta Exhibition. Three of his paintings have been on display in the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion. He has appeared twice on the NPR Tales From the South radio show, heard worldwide by 130 million listeners, and he gave a Ted talk in Bentonville, Ark. His first book “Chimps Having Fun,” a collection of his paintings with story lines, was released in late 2014.

The fun starts at 5 p.m. on the Sunday of Diversity weekend, Nov. 8, and will include appetizers, a cash bar and a silent auction. Come join us in supporting the Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow.
