Pallbearer Celebrates 10 Years of Music With New Beer
Arkansas-native band Pallbearer will play their album, Sorrow and Extinction, at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville on Sunday, July 21. The concert, as well as the release of a new single and a limited-edition beer collaboration with Lost Forty Brewing, are in celebration of the band’s 10th anniversary of making music. Special guests at the show will include other local bands Terminus, Terminal Nation and Sumokem.
Pallbearer worked with the Little Rock brewing company to create a pilsner beer called “The Legend.” Lost Forty brewer Zac Thompson was the leader of the beer-brewing aspect of the project.
“Seeing as how we listen to metal music every day in the brewery, it just seemed to fit and our owner John Beechboard loved the idea,” Thompson explained. “All that was left to do was pitch it to the band.”
One of the band members, Brett Campbell, who has designed some of the band’s T-shirts, designed the beer can. Band member Devin Holt decided on the style of the beer, although the entire band agreed on a Czech-style pilsner. The band came to Lost Forty for the brewing and were put to work on small tasks.
The beers and other merchandise will be available for purchase at the show. The first 50 people to show up will receive a free limited-edition pilsner glass, and the next 50 will get a free poster. Doors open at 7.
The band also performed their full album at The Rev Room in Little Rock on July 13. More information about Pallbearer can be found on their website, pallbearerdoom.com. The Legend will be for sale at some liquor stores and bars around Arkansas for a limited time.
