The Gallery at Garrison will showcase contemporary oil paintings by Fayetteville-based artist Shabana Kauser. The paintings will feature portraits of women wearing the traditional dupatta, or scarf. Kauser will also debut mixed-media work at the opening reception on June 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Kauser is a British-South Asian artist now living in Fayetteville. She lived in the United Kingdom for almost 30 years and moved to Northwest Arkansas 12 years ago. The move brought many challenges but also some amazing opportunities. She discovered her passion for creating as a result of this move. Kauser shares her journey and culture through her work. Her work has been exhibited all over the world, and her beautiful paintings garner much attention due to her extraordinary talent and subject matter.
