First annual Rogers Short Film Fest coming to Arkansas Public Theatre
Lights, camera, action! The Arkansas Public Theatre and StudioChunky will host and present the first annual Rogers Short Film Fest for “Official Selection” screening on Aug. 21.
The Rogers Short Film Fest provides a platform for filmmakers of all demographics and backgrounds to practice and celebrate the art of filmmaking, according to a statement from Arkansas Public Theatre. From kids with a camera and creativity, to seasoned production studio professionals, this festival showcases them all.
Short film submissions will be accepted until Aug. 18. The list of Official Short Film Selections will be released on Aug 19, according to a press release. Filmmakers, crew, family, friends and media organizations are invited to attend and celebrate the art of film. Current sponsors, donors, volunteers and judges of Rogers Short Film Fest will also be in attendance.
The festival is set for 3-6 p.m. with the awards ceremony following at 7-8 p.m. at the Arkansas Public Theatre, formerly known as the Victory Theater, in historic downtown Rogers.
Doors open at 2 p.m. and the festival is set to begin at 3 p.m. Concessions will be available. Screening tickets are $5 per person and award ceremony tickets are $15 per person. Both can be purchased online at www.ArkansasPublicTheatre.org or at the door.
