NWA Artist Emily Chase Raising Funds for Residency at St. Mary’s College of Maryland

A versatile artist who has the ability to compile an emotional story into art is one way to describe Emily Chase. In 2013, Emily received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from the University of Arkansas, with the distinguished honor graduating Summa Cum Laude. She has studied and traveled throughout Europe, Japan, and the United States. Emily currently works out of a studio in Fayetteville and focuses on creating masterpieces out of paper.
Emily Chase uses her emotionally charged art to tell stories and relate to others in a way that words alone cannot. In her current work, Emily utilizes paper like it is cloth. She begins with a piece of paper, sews it, embroiders it, dyes it, and creates exceptional garments that are not meant to be worn, but to be seen from an altered point of view. Clothing inspires her because it showcases each individual’s personal beliefs, rich history, and cherished memories. Her creative mind and authentic art form has not gone unnoticed by her colleagues.
Emily has recently been offered the opportunity to attend the ten-week artist residency at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. This profound artist has been doing everything she can to be able to fund this much needed residency – working multiple jobs and raising money through art commissions – but unfortunately, it has not been enough. Therefore, Emily is holding a fundraiser to help with her expenses. All willing donors will be gifted a piece of her organic artwork. Stickers, paper cut scenes, handmade paper insects, and custom oil paintings are just a few rewards you might receive for helping this one-of-a-kind artist achieve her life-long dream.
You can donate by visiting this website. Her residency begins next month and with each gracious donation she will be able to achieve her dreams and fund her trip to Maryland.
