The Little Rock Winds to present Christmas classics in “Holly and Ivy”
The Little Rock Winds plans to promote holiday cheer with their presentation of “Holly and Ivy” at UA-Pulaski Tech CHARTS Theater at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 5.
Musical director Israel Getzov will be conducting the band with a slate of some favorite Arkansan musicians, such as an appearance by tenor soloist Michael Oriatti of Batesville to perform a medley of Christmas songs from the 1950s; Pat Walker, meteorologist with KARK News, to serve as the narrator in “The Night Before Christmas” (based on the well-known poem of the same title); Michele Hellstern of Cabot, winner of the conductor’s baton auction last summer and more.
The annual Stocking Stuffer Silent Auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. and offers lots of items to fill attendees’ Christmas stockings. On top of that, a Selfies with Santa photo booth will be set up during intermission and after the show to allow families to get that perfect Christmas-card photo.
Described as a show that will share “musical offerings of yuletide favorites performed with a cheerful chorus, delightful dancers, stunning soloists and a right jolly old elf,” this evening is set to be one that all families may enjoy.
Reserved seat tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for adults 65 and over, $5 for students and are available online at charts.uaptc.edu/events, or by calling the UA-PTC CHARTS Theater (located at 3000 West Scenic Drive, North Little Rock) box office at (501) 812-2710.
