Hot Springs celebrates a milestone on August 1 as it marks the 25th anniversary of it’s monthly Gallery Walk, the oldest one in the state. Besides being known for its healing springs and race track, the town has many fantastic galleries. To mark the milestone, galleries along Central Avenue and across town will be holding events on Friday and Saturday.

Alison Parsons Gallery will exhibit an exceptional collection of botanical sculptural designs. Designed and presented by Monroe Cranford AIFD, CFD, PFD for this year’s American Institute of Floral Designers’ National Symposium, each is a distinctive display incorporating permanent botanicals with fresh flora and will be on loan to the gallery during the celebration.

Contributing over 20 years in the floral industry, Monroe Cranford demonstrates his commitment to the industry in many capacities, having designed for numerous design shows, and commentated panels. In 1998 he was certified as an Arkansas Master Florist and inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers in 2005. Cranford serves on the board of directors for the Arkansas Florist Association and Arkansas Teleflora Unit and is owner and operator of Flowers & Home in Bryant and Hot Springs.

Alison Parsons Gallery will also be celebrating its 8th anniversary on Gallery Row with a special unveiling of artist Alison Parsons’ new collection of paintings: “In the Heat of the Night – Art & Architecture of the Spa”.  Each is a watercolor painting depicting night scenes of favorite local landmarks. Lori Arnold, ceramic and glass sculptor, continues her featured expressive composition pieces combining ceramic clay and molten glass; Kevin Chrislip’s tree sculptures will preview several pieces from his latest collection; and Gerald Lee Delavan’s “Metals in Motion” mobile art will also be highlighted at Alison Parsons Gallery, 802 Central Avenue in Hot Springs. A special reception will be held on August 1, 5 to 9 pm.

Justus Gallery will be celebrating their 10th anniversary over the weekend as well.  Other events include wine samples and a preview of the “Paws in Prison” fundraiser at Gallery Central. Valerie Hanks Goetz will display her work and give a demonstration on her horse and pine needle weaving techniques at American Art Gallery. The Fine Art Center of Hot Springs will display the Finalist Exhibit of the Hot Spring Regional Art competition.  On Saturday, events include artist demonstrations at galleries like Taylor Bellot Nature Gallery, Linda Palmer Gallery and Legacy Fine Art.

Given the diverse events and art found at the numerous galleries, you’re sure to find something you enjoy.
