The Artist’s Laboratory Theatre will host a Bold Womxn Benefit and Award Ceremony to celebrate Northwest Arkansas-based womxn leaders, artists and creatives.

The #BoldWomxnWin campaign began as an initiative to bolster financial support for womxn-centered programming at Artist’s Laboratory Theatre. Upcoming programs aim to use theatre as a tool to empower womxn — spelled with an ‘x’ to promote inclusivity — across Northwest Arkansas.

Inspired in part by national discussions around abuse and sexual assault, the #BoldWomxnWin campaign and womxn-centered programming of Artist’s Laboratory Theatre aim to center the experiences of womxn at a local level. From low representation of womxn in local government, to abuse and discrimination in the arts community, Northwest Arkansas mirrors many of the same national issues facing womxn.

This fundraising event will motivate financial support for programming and honor the womxn of Northwest Arkansas who strive to create a more equitable region. Awards will include a Bold Womxn of the Year award and a Fierce Gxrl of the Year award.

The benefit is $25 for adults and $15 for youth, and will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at 1030 South College Ave.
