Amazeum to hold UnGala FUNdraiser
The Scott Family Amazeum will close to the public on Saturday, April 24, for its UnGala FUNdraiser presented by Nabholz Construction. The museum opens to UnGala ticketholders only from 2 to 5pm. There will be a virtual event from 7 to 8pm the same day. Tickets on sale now and include access to the museum and virtual event, an Amazeum to-go box full of fantastic food, flavorful beverages, and fun activities. All proceeds are used to support Amazeum accessibility programs.
Each year the UnGala features a signature experience making its Northwest Arkansas debut. This year the Amazeum brings “Impulse” to the community. “Impulse” is an installation of interactive light and sound enabled seesaws that when activated through play create a dynamic, ever-changing composition of light and sound. “Impulse” was first presented as part of the 6th edition of Luminothérapie in 2015-16 at the Place des Festivals in the Quartier des Spectacles in Montreal.
The UnGala gives grown-ups ages 21 an older a chance to give their inner child a night out to play and make some else’s day. Proceeds support diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives at the Amazeum and Amazeum-style learning experiences in communities throughout NWA. Tickets to the UnGala are $125 and include an incredible take-and-make food truck buffet, adult beverages, and special Amazeum experiences to continue the fun at home during the virtual event.
If there is a traditional element to the UnGala its NWA’s only 24-volt race corporate challenge where teams race specially prepared children’s ride on vehicles for the coveted Zing Cup. Other unique experiences like a flame organ and phosphorescent wall, designed to activate the creativity and curiosity of grown-ups, await guests inside and outside the museum at the UnGala.
“Our team puts a ton of effort into this event for the community,” says Sam Dean, Amazeum executive director. “Creating one-of-a-kind experiences takes time and we want to make sure that our guests have an exceptional experience at our fundraiser. Our goal with UnGala is to tell our story to the community and give them a taste of the ‘every day amazing’ experiences we provide children and families. We also want to bring in an interactive art experience that guests probably have never seen before like “Impulse” created by Lateral Office and CS Design and produced by Quartier des Spectacles Partnership from Montreal, Canada.”
The Amazeum UnGala FUNdraiser is more than just a great time for adults to give their inner child a night out to play. Proceeds support Amazeum diversity and inclusion initiatives and programs like Priceless Nights on Wednesday evenings from 4:00 to 7:30 pm, events like HallowZing for special needs children and their families, and community outreach programs that take Amazeum-style learning experiences to communities in Northwest Arkansas. The Scott Family Amazeum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and depends on community support to continue developing and providing access to interactive learning experiences.
Make plans for a grownup playdate at the most amazing Fundraiser in Northwest Arkansas – the Scott Family Amazeum UnGala FUNdraiser presented by Nabholz Construction. Leave the tuxedos, gowns, and uncomfortable shoes at home and arrive ready to play April 24 from 2 to 5 pm at the Amazeum and from 7 to 8pm at home.
