Groundbreaking DJs, creatives, and business owners from Northwest Arkansas, Little Rock, Charlotte, and Tulsa will hit the stage at the 5th Annual Her Set Her Sound (HSHS) Fest, a trailblazing live music experience produced by entertainment company Her Set Her Sound where artists, music lovers, and changemakers are connected with dignity and care.

The HSHS Fest will take place at Prairie Street Live in Fayetteville on Saturday, June 7 with doors opening at 1:00 p.m. Early-bird tickets start at $33 and are available for purchase online. Rideshare and use of the Razorback Regional greenway are also encouraged. Tickets are non-refundable and if emergency circumstances occur, the festival will be rescheduled.

“Her Set Her Sound has been a pioneer for amplifying her on and off the stage in Northwest Arkansas and beyond since 2021,” said Robyn Jordan, Her Set Her Sound’s founder and organizer. “We center Black women, gender inclusive folks, and people of the global majority because though we are historically overlooked and exploited in creative and professional industries, we are traditionally the most highly engaged and the most influential audiences shaping the future of music, culture, and business. As far as I know, HSHS is the first Black woman-owned music festival in the state of Arkansas”

Featured national artists include Hourglass and CC Mercer Watson, regional acts include Afroshoujo and K.O., and local acts include DJ Dribblz, Avian Alia, DJ N8TiV, DJ Down, DJ Baddie Kay, and DJ SQS. Performances and entertainment acts appeal to a wide cultural audience, especially the African and Indigenous Diasporas. The Soulspoon Southern Co., Nyarai Skincare, Out My Mind Art AJP, Shop Kat Gems, and more local women and minority-owned businesses will be vendors at the festival. Food, art activations, and more are also part of the day’s festivities.

“As an advocate an admirer of the work that Her Set Her Sound does year round, I’ve found myself lending a hand where I can,” said CC Mercer Watson, an all-around Afro-Creative whose work as a textile artist, actor, playwright, poet, and activist weaves together history, culture, and social justice. Presenting new curated pieces along with her zodiac quilt series to the HSHS Festival grounds, she adds “As the old African proverb goes, ‘Many hands make light work.’ It’s important to support this organization because it gives space, grace, and opportunities to thinkers, dreamers, and doers in the kaleidoscopic forms of art…Art is essential to the culture, and so is Her Set Her Sound.”

The HSHS Fest is supported by Experience Fayetteville, NWA Black Heritage, CC Mercer Watson, Crystal Bridges, E&J Gallo, Essence Chiropractic, Christine and Pete Hartman, Trailside Yoga, Swoon Juice Bar, Sonrisa Boutique, Dirtbag Vintage, Big Box Karaoke, the Meteor Cafe, and Signature Bank.
