Maxine’s Taproom hosts “Of Love and Longing” art exhibition
“Of Love and Longing: an Art Exhibition that Exploits the Facets of the Heart ” will be held at Maxine’s Taproom on February 10th. Maxine’s Taproom is located at 107 N Block Ave in downtown Fayetteville. The event begins at 7 PM and is free to the public. Over 21 only.
“Of Love and Longing” is a multimedia conceptual art show featuring a bright variety of local and national artists. This show features work that speaks to the artist’s individual interpretation of Valentines Day. The unique challenge of creating conceptual art asks for the artist’s idea to form the structure of their work. The variety of responses forms a thoughtful commentary on an established yet still very alive theme. “Of Love and Longing” includes work ranging from traditional paintings to manipulated photographs, hoodoo love conjures, video installations, and interactive mappings. This show asks the viewer to think with the artist on their grasp of modern love.
After the show on February 10th, the collection will remain in the venue through February 14th.
Maxine’s Taproom hosts a variety of art and performance experiences, including “Sunday Night Service,” a performance series that features, the “All You Need to Know Show” (an information variety show), “Speak for Yourself (a community storytelling open-mic), “Whosie Whatsit” (a panel game show), and “Bandastic,” a live music show.
