The August Exhibit at Justus Fine Art Gallery will mark the 20th Anniversary for the gallery and will also celebrate the 35th Anniversary for Hot Springs’ Gallery Walk.

The Anniversary Show will feature a group exhibit that will include selections of work from most of the roster of represented artists. A collaborative art piece will also be created under the guidance of artist Elizabeth Weber during the opening reception from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024 and the exhibit will display until August 31.

A few highlights of the anniversary exhibit include sculpture and paintings by Robyn Horn, including her sculpture “Slipping Sideways” which is representative of her slipping stone series where the elements in the sculpture appear to be in motion or falling. Photorealist painting, “Flowing in and Out” by Adrian Deckbar, skillfully captures reflections and plays of light in a stream on the artist’s property in Arkansas. “Gateway to a New Birth” by local artist Gary Simmons, which appears both ancient and futuristic, is an iconic example of the artist’s skill with pen and ink while also inviting the viewer into a story. Many other additional pieces by the wide range of artists represented by the gallery will be featured.

“To mark the occasion of Justus Fine Art Gallery’s 20th Anniversary, I wanted to do something to recognize the important role that artists, collectors, staff members, friends, media, and others have played in supporting the gallery over the last two decades,” owner Dolores Justus said. “The collaborative art piece that will be created by attendees during the opening reception is meant to be a symbol of the interconnectivity of us all. Attendees will participate by adding a strip of fabric (provided by the gallery) to the sculpture under the direction of Elizabeth Weber. What is created by the support of the arts in our community, state, and beyond is bigger than what we can imagine. I feel so grateful for all those who have played a role in supporting our efforts here at the gallery and in our community.”
