The July Bauhaus Salon Series
The Bauhaus Salon Series for this month will be open to the public Thursday, July 18 at 6 p.m. The series is a free open forum of discussion that is hosted by Meredith Mashburn each third Thursday. The July event will feature March to August (M2A) with Derrick and Jodi Mears. The Folk-Americana duo offers the audience a snapshot into the human condition using unique tales of Ozark Mountain sound through their indie bluegrass, roots and Americana music. Guests are featured to speak out for the environment and use the time to teach participants to have their voices heard. Mashburn is still seeking to include a visual artist in the event.
“March to August is a really wonderful local band who I’ve worked with several times in the past their music has a great message and they really give voice to the voiceless. I’ve been talking a lot about activism and getting involved and the time is now for us all to do whatever we are willing to do whatever we can to help our environment regenerate. I thought it would be a perfect time to introduce music into the discussion. Music is so powerful in moving people and making change and I couldn’t think of a better fit,” Mashburn said.
She will also be sharing about her “Human Nature Series” and “Wild Rising” series.
“I was inspired to create the series after I went through a spiritual awakening and begin working on my project called “human nature.” This 10 piece series was how I worked through the spiritual awakening and processed the changes that were happening within me and externally as I changed,” she said. “My “Wild Rising” series was born out of a deep need to see the good in the world that I was internally feeling within myself. Wild rising champions those who are doing great and wonderful efforts towards helping our earth, regenerate and thrive. It is my soul mission to spotlight those people. Art is so powerful and this specific art that I’ve been working on has been channeled through me as a roadmap. I can feel the earth calling me.”
