Community partnership professional joins Windgate Museum of Art as education curator
Sarah Donaghy has been named the new Education Curator at the Windgate Museum of Art (WMA) at Hendrix College. This new position, funded by the Windgate Foundation, is responsible for building strong bridges to students, faculty, staff, and community members in order to make the museum accessible and meaningful for everyone. Central to Donaghy’s responsibilities will be managing, training, and mentoring the approximately 20-25 paid student Gallery Educators employed at the museum each semester.
“We are delighted to have Sarah join the WMA team and bring her unique skills and talents working with Hendrix students in experiential learning opportunities to the museum,” said Mary Kennedy, Director/Curator of the WMA. “With a vision of being the premier teaching art museum in Arkansas, the WMA aspires to create opportunities for Hendrix students to build professional museum skills while engaging with a diverse array of exhibitions, educational programs, and social events. Sarah’s role will be critical to our success in achieving that vision.” Donaghy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lyon College and her Master of Public Administration from Arkansas State University. Before coming to Hendrix College in 2017 as Coordinator of Community Partnerships, she held a number of education and public service positions with such organizations as Heifer International, Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, and University of Arkansas-Little Rock.
