CALS seeks public opinion to shape future of the library system
The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is seeking community feedback in an online survey July 15 through August 5. The survey is available in both English and Spanish with an estimated time of five to ten minutes to complete. This survey is the first opportunity for the public to get involved in the future of CALS. A steering committee will include staff and community members to work through the process.
CALS will work with a consulting firm, Constructive Disruption to help create these surveys and hold public forums in the library branches during August. This new plan will cover the period of 2025-2028.
“We often receive input from the public; individuals who are eager for us to hear their thoughts about how we utilize their tax dollars. This is an opportunity for patrons and non-patrons alike to help guide us on the future of the library here in central Arkansas,” CALS Executive Director Nate Coulter said. “Our last strategic plan resulted in many of the things we have available today; including our wonderful community outreach team, our addition of book lockers as an option for patrons to pick up books outside of regular hours, the forthcoming bookmobile, and the most obvious, all of the renovations and upgrades happening around the system.”
